To add quality and character to your home, yank out your old carpeting and replace it with beautiful natural flooring. Natural Flooring comes in many styles and fabrications, and has many benefits over ordinary carpet. Natural flooring lends beauty to the eye, increases the value of your home, and can even offer health benefits. There are many choices to choose from for natural flooring. The most popular is wood flooring. The most beloved wood floors are Oak, Pine, Beech, Ash, Maple, Cherry, Walnut and Bamboo. Each has it’s own unique character and charm to complement any room and add aesthetic value. Wood floors are very durable and last for many years.

Another choice for natural flooring is cork flooring. Cork flooring is less expensive than wood flooring and is just as appealing. It is available in different shades of color and is soft under your feet. Cork flooring is also great for heat and noise insulation. It being a soft material, it can help save on energy bills and cut down on the noise factor under your feet and throughout your home.

Natural stone and tile flooring are another answer for flooring decor. For all out luxury, marble or granite flooring lasts forever and makes an exquisite impression, even if it’s used solely in your foyer. Tile flooring comes in a plethora of styles and colors. Types of tiles are ceramic, terra cotta, mosaic, glass and porcelain. Tiles today can be fabricated to have the effect of other materials such as stone and marble and are less costly. The right tile flooring can look fabulous in your living area besides using it traditionally in bathrooms or kitchens.

If you’d rather feel some buffer under your feet, natural fibre floor coverings are another option for genuine floor coverings. Constructed with organic materials from nature and popular because of their distinguished texture and character, natural fibre flooring includes coir, made from coconut husk fibre, jute, from the stalks of the jute plant, sisal, from the agave plant, and sea grasses. Unlike carpeted flooring, natural fibre flooring offers health benefits. Because of the tight weaving process, dust is kept to a minimum and stays on the surface for easy cleaning. Coir and sisal fibers also contain tannins that ward off dust mites.

Which ever natural floor covering you choose, it can present a dramatic effect to any room, lending it warmth and personality for years to come.
